An HVAC website has to earn the call in a few seconds
Sonoran Sun Heating and Cooling is a family-owned HVAC company based in Mesa. Gage runs the trucks, Heidy runs the business, and their customers are homeowners across Mesa, Fountain Hills, Tempe, Ahwatukee, and the greater East Valley who usually find them on the worst day of the summer, when the air conditioner has just quit.
That visitor is not browsing. They want to know three things fast: do you serve my area, can I trust you, and how do I get someone out here. The old site, on a budget host, did not make those answers obvious, and nearly all of the company’s new leads were coming from a paid lead marketplace. The owners wanted Google to become a real second channel.
What the project focused on
The signed scope was a fast, modern one-page WordPress rebuild, followed by a month-to-month local SEO program. Website first, then search.
The website
- Managed WordPress hosting: TurnKey moved the site off shared hosting onto managed WordPress hosting with SSL, daily backups, security monitoring, and a staging copy for review before launch.
- A one-page layout built around the next step: A hero with the service area and a primary Schedule Today call to action, click-to-call on mobile, a services section, Google review proof, an owners section, FAQs, and a contact footer with hours and service area.
- Copy rewritten for the way people search: The core copy was rewritten with AC repair, installation, mini-split, and maintenance searches in mind, including the company’s Cool Comfort maintenance plan, with short headings a homeowner can scan on a phone.
- Online booking that fits how they already work: The Schedule Today path connects to the Housecall Pro scheduler the company already used, so web bookings land in the same system as phone bookings.
- Tracking from day one: GA4 and Google Tag conversion events for form submits, click-to-call, and Schedule button clicks, plus Google Search Console and a submitted sitemap.
- Launch and handoff: Cross-browser and mobile QA, DNS cutover through Cloudflare, a walkthrough video for the owners, and a quick fix round in the first week after launch.
The local SEO program
- Baseline and technical pass: A starting audit so later months could be measured against something real, then technical SEO cleanup on the new site.
- Citations: About fifty online directory listings created or corrected in the first two months so the business name, service area, phone, and website matched everywhere.
- Google Business Profile work: Verification support when the profile lost its verified status after an address change, plus profile cleanup once it was restored.
- Location pages: Service-area pages for Mesa and Fountain Hills, approved by the client in December 2025, followed by Tempe and Ahwatukee in January 2026. Each page follows the home page structure with local copy, not a city-name swap.
- Lead attribution: A connection between the website, Housecall Pro, and a reporting dashboard so the owners could start to see which jobs came from Google.
Website first, then search
The site launched before any SEO work started. That order matters: location pages, citations, and profile work only pay off when the page they send people to can actually book the job.
What the pages look like

What the records show
TurnKey measured the site through GA4 rather than guessing. By March 2026, with the location pages live and the SEO program paused for the season at the client’s request, GA4 recorded ten organic Schedule Service clicks in a thirty-day window, up from zero before the program started, and organic sessions up 67 percent month over month. The Mesa and Fountain Hills pages were earning organic clicks of their own.
Those are website numbers, not a promise about rankings or revenue. HVAC is seasonal and competitive, and a few months of location pages and citations is the start of a local SEO foundation, not the end of one.
When the site launched, Heidy’s reply was short: “we love the website.”
Why this matters for Mesa and East Valley service businesses
Most home service companies do not need a forty-page website. They need a site that answers the three questions above on a phone, books the job into the system the office already uses, and tells the owner where the lead came from. That is what this project delivered, and it is the pattern TurnKey brings to Mesa web design projects for contractors, clinics, and other local service businesses.
The business model is simple. You own the website, the hosting account, and the analytics. Website projects start around $2,500, local SEO starts at $1,400 per month, and both support and SEO are month to month with no long-term contract. The Phoenix website cost guide uses this project as one of its two scoped examples.

Frequently asked questions
What did TurnKey build for Sonoran Sun AC?
TurnKey rebuilt the Sonoran Sun AC website as a one-page WordPress site on managed hosting, with a Schedule Service booking path, click-to-call, Google review proof, an owners section, FAQs, GA4 conversion tracking, and Google Search Console. A local SEO program followed with directory citations, Google Business Profile work, and Mesa, Fountain Hills, Tempe, and Ahwatukee location pages.
How long did the Sonoran Sun AC website take?
The project kicked off in mid August 2025 and the new site launched on October 2, 2025. The proposal scoped three working weeks; the rest of the calendar time was theme selection, content review, and the client's feedback rounds.
Is Sonoran Sun AC a Mesa business?
Yes. Sonoran Sun Heating and Cooling is a family-owned HVAC company based in Mesa that serves Mesa, Fountain Hills, Tempe, Ahwatukee, and the greater East Valley. That makes it the closest example on this site for a Mesa or East Valley service business.
